Native plants are critical to the millions of migratory songbirds that visit the Eastern Shore of Virginia each spring and fall.  Migratory songbirds need the berries and insects provided by Eastern Shore native plants to fuel their long journey.  The Shore is one of only a few rest stops for these and other migratory birds.  Help make the Shore a generous rest stop!

The Plant ES Natives Campaign logo features a Summer Tanager, Piranga rubra, feeding on the berries of Downy Serviceberry, Amelanchier arborea; A Blue Grosbeak, Passerina caerulea, and Narrow-leaved sunflower Helianthus angustifolius; and, an Orchard Oriole, Icterus spurius and Cross Vine, Bignonia capreolata.
